Dr Brooks is an experienced Clinical Psychologist specialising in women’s mental health. Through her extensive work with the Women’s Health Clinical Care Unit, King Edward Memorial Hospital, followed by almost 10 years in private practice, Dr Brooks has developed expertise in a range of clinical presentations, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, infertility, and perinatal mental health.
Since completing her PhD in 2010 Dr Brooks has been heavily involved in psychology education, coordinating the Master of Clinical Psychology program and teaching across the postgraduate psychology programs at ECU. As a Board Approved Supervisor, Dr Brooks mentors provisionally registered psychologists and clinical psychology registrars.
Dr Brooks therapeutic approach is warm, authentic, person-centered, trauma-informed and integrative, utilising a variety of evidence-based approaches depending upon the unique needs of her patient. She has received training and supervision in a wide range of therapeutic modalities including attachment-informed Psychodynamic Therapy and is an ANZAED Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinician (CEDC).
